Metal in the garden takes on a rich patina over time.
I enjoy working with weathering steel (sometimes referred to as CorTen).
CorTen starts out dark grey and develops a layer of oxidation (i.e. rust) over time. This oxidation layer gives the metal a rich brown patina and protects the base metal from corrosion. CorTen is especially low maintenance and therefore ideal for the garden.
I also work in other metals such as stainless steel and aluminum.
I’ve posted photos of some of my recent work and I am continually developing additional designs. If you have ideas for a piece for your garden, get in touch and we can discuss.
